In this weekβs episode, Jens and Rasmus discuss the growing trend of nature-positive investment portfolios, as highlighted in a new paper from New Forests.
We also talk about this yearβs Nobel Prize winners and continue our exploration of sensor technologies, focusing on eDNA, where researchers are using βDNA vacuumsβ for high-resolution biomonitoring in forests. This technology offers exciting new insights for global nature management and conservation efforts.

One of the major challenges in forestry is tracking and measuring biodiversity effectively.
Traditionally, this has involved extensive use of traps and manual sampling. But a new method allows scientists to capture DNA directly from the air, offering a less invasive way to survey local species.
In our featured article, we cover an innovative Danish study where researchers used simple filters and computer fans to capture airborne DNA. Over just three days of collection, their subsequent analysis identified 64 different species in a single forest area!
