We wanted a solution that would activate forest owners – a solution that could help them enjoy their forest while ensuring they utilised it optimally. The question was whether to develop it ourselves or buy into something existing.

It's been almost a year since Dalgas approached us – they were looking for a user-friendly, digital forest mapping solution that could work as an extension of their own solution.
Having a digital solution wasn't new for Dalgas. Over the last 10 years, their users have had access to an online forest portal with relevant forest data such as accounts, news, forest plans and contracts.
But Dalgas was ready to take the next step and get a solution that was more mobile, more engaging – and which could ultimately help activate their forest owners and create greater amenity value.
"We wanted a solution that would help activate forest owners – a solution that could help them enjoy their forest while ensuring they utilised it optimally. The question was whether to develop it ourselves or buy into something existing."

"We might as well see what was already out there – because when you handle everything yourself, no one but yourself comes up with good ideas.
When we first started talking with Forsler, it's no secret that it wasn't forest knowledge they impressed us with. But they had good ideas and technical understanding – and we certainly haven't been disappointed along the way.
We talked a couple of times, and we quickly realised there was potential for something interesting because they were strong in both mapping and functionality. After a few clarifying conversations, we got started - and we've been working on it since then."

It's barely a year since we took the first steps – and on 15th June, the new solution finally goes live.
We're incredibly excited to reveal our collaboration with Dalgas – but most of all, we're excited for Dalgas' users to get a solution that can create value, engagement and owner satisfaction.
Like the previous solution, Dalgas users still have access to all their forest data – everything is gathered in one place, and in the new solution they can access their data and forest maps anywhere, anytime. Whether at home on the computer or in the middle of the forest via their mobile.
One of Dalgas' biggest wishes was to create a solution that could increase forest owners' enjoyment of ownership.
"We hope the new solution further engages and inspires forest owners. We hope owners can see the possibility of working directly in Forsler instead of having to go home first and then call the forest manager to explain. The new solution is much smarter in that way, and we hope this can help expand and improve collaboration with our forest owners."

One thing that was absolutely essential for Dalgas was the possibility for thorough documentation – and that's something we've worked a lot with at Forsler, as there are increasingly greater demands for exactly that.
"Forestry is more relevant than ever, and we can see that access to data is central these days – also when it comes to having a data foundation with documentation for certification, biodiversity, general operations and so on. There are greater and greater demands for documentation - and the access to information becomes more and more central in everything we do."

"Dalgas is an old, large company with many customers, and conversely, Forsler is young and new, and we also feel a responsibility to keep forestry young and active. We quickly found out that despite our differences, we both had something to bring to the table. I like to think they've learned something along the way - we've certainly learned a lot about technology, and in that way we've all gained something from the collaboration.
The final result is really beautiful, and it integrates well with our solution. Our most important asset is our customers, it's the most expensive thing we have – and we wouldn't let 1,400 people into a solution we didn't believe in."
